Fourth Element Thermocline Vest
Thermocline offers a solution for many people who suffer from neoprene allergies, either by completely replacing the traditional wetsuit or by acting as a protective layer that reduces contact between the skin and the wetsuit itself.*
Perfect for all surface water sports and warm-water diving, this revolutionary thermal protection is lightweight, neutrally buoyant, machine washable, breathable, and hypoallergenic. Thermocline full suit combines our experience with high-tech materials and our passion for life in, on, and under the water to create a truly versatile and lightweight wetsuit system.
The material ensures that the user feels more comfortable when out of the water, during surface sports, or when gearing up for a dive. The inner fleece layer wicks moisture away from the skin and transports it through the breathable membrane, where it evaporates from the nylon surface.
In the water, the membrane traps a thin layer of water close to the body, preventing colder water from flowing over the body, making it perfect for surfers, freedivers, and scuba divers.
Thermocline dries quickly, often within an hour or between dives – a quick rinse and a squeeze to remove excess water before hanging it inside out should ensure it is ready for your next adventure.
No more smelly neoprene suits – this wetsuit can be machine washed (we recommend using our Sub-30 eco-friendly laundry detergent).
Store it safely with other clothes, and when packing for vacation, there’s no need to worry about damaging the material – it can be squeezed into the last remaining space in your luggage with no issues.
*Our experience is that skin allergies to neoprene, although rare, are not caused by a single substance, and therefore it is difficult to be certain about preventing a problem. Thermocline has been used successfully by people with neoprene allergies, but it is important to consult with a doctor about any symptoms and possible alternatives.
The Thermocline material does not work the same way as neoprene, and you may find that it feels tight out of the water, but once in the water, it becomes looser, so a close fit is important to avoid it sagging.
