When purchasing Garmin's new T2 transceiver, with the new MK3i, you can have your tank pressure displayed directly on the screen during your dive and it fits into your 1st stage high-pressure port. Additionally, you'll be informed about the remaining bottom time based on your air consumption as well as the SAC rate (average air consumption). It's possible to connect up to 8 transceivers to the same watch, whereas the previously discontinued T1 transmitter had 5, making it easy to monitor all your tanks, your students' air quantity if you teach diving, or your buddy's air consumption.
The enhanced SubWave-Sonar technology also enables the exchange of pre-set diver-to-diver messages, up to a distance of 30 meters, as well as monitoring tank pressure, depth, and distance for the aforementioned 8 divers within a range of 10 meters, when paired with the Descent T2 transceiver for group diving.
(Diver-to-diver messages, as well as distance measurement, will be available very soon as a software update for the MK3i)
The T2 transceiver is robustly built and waterproof up to 200m (20ATM). The battery life is approximately 100 hours. It's possible to set up visual and audible alarms for low air volume.
