The Hydros Pro series from Scubapro represents a completely new approach to BCD construction. Instead of traditional fabric, stitching, and complex closures, the harness system is built from molded Monprene®—an elastomer material that makes the entire structure nearly indestructible. The Hydros Pro series offers a unique combination of extreme durability, modular flexibility, and compact travel readiness, making it ideal for cold-water divers, travel enthusiasts, and professionals alike.
Monprene® harness – durable, comfortable, and fabric-free
At the heart of the Hydros Pro series is its iconic Monprene®-based gel harness. This harness contains no fabric or seams, eliminating weak points such as Velcro, zippers, and material fatigue. It also conforms closely to the body, preventing the BCD from shifting during the dive. Monprene® is UV- and chemical-resistant, offers a snug, body-hugging fit, and remains flexible regardless of temperature or environment. The result is a BCD that lasts far longer than traditional models—even under heavy use in saltwater, tropical sun, and harsh conditions.
BC-4-Life modular design – build your BCD your way
The Hydros Pro series is built on the BC-4-Life principles: Every component can be replaced, upgraded, or repaired. Despite its rugged construction, the Hydros Pro series is also travel-friendly. The shoulder and waist straps fold flat against the back plate and wing, allowing the BCD to pack compactly and lie flat in your bag. Technical improvements that make a real difference
Monorail Weight System
The new weight system uses a slide-and-lock rail, allowing weights to be inserted or removed with one hand. The system is more intuitive and faster in practice—especially between dives. Most importantly, the pockets are smaller and more compact than on the original Hydros Pro, giving you more freedom around the chest and abdomen.
Heavy-Duty Quick-Dry Bladder
The wing bladder material has been upgraded to a new double-coated, ultra-durable, water-repellent fabric that resists abrasion, chemicals, and sun exposure. It does not absorb water, meaning the Hydros Pro 2 dries almost instantly—less moisture, less weight, and even better travel performance.
Ergo-Lite Back Plate
The new back plate is 25% lighter than the previous model and molded to fit the body’s contours with soft padding for increased comfort. It features two flex zones at the top and bottom, helping it conform naturally to the body. Integrated top and bottom grab handles make it easy to lift and manage a mounted tank—even while wearing gloves.
Lighter construction
The redesigned back plate, new materials, and the completely reworked pocket system make the BCD lighter than ever. The original Hydros Pro was already lightweight—but the Hydros Pro 2 is a full kilogram lighter. Pure luxury on a boat dive.
Tri-Bungee Retraction System
An optimized three-point elastic retraction system keeps the wing compact underwater. The result is a more streamlined profile, reduced drag, balanced air distribution, and stable buoyancy at the surface.
Combined with internal cross-flow channels in the bladder, air bubbles are eliminated as effectively as possible regardless of your position when venting the BCD.
Super Cinch 2 Tank Strap
Scubapro’s already brilliant Super Cinch tank strap has also been improved. The updated system is even simpler, making tank changes faster and easier. It requires minimal adjustment and provides a secure, firm grip on the tank.
